Are the cake designs on your website the only designs available?
You can choose any design from the website exactly as it is, or I can tweak colours and details to personalise it for your wedding day. I'm also happy to take elements from designs you've seen elsewhere online or in magazines. Just bear in mind that cake design is an art, not a science -no two cakes can be replicated identically from a photo. I can draw inspiration and style ideas from what you show me, but your cake will be unique to you, not a copy of another designer's work.
How far in advance do we need to order our wedding cake?
I offer a personal, bespoke service, which means I limit the number of orders I take on to keep quality high. I get booked up quickly during peak wedding season, so it's best to reach out as soon as you start planning. Some couples book a year or more in advance to secure their date.
Do our cake tiers all have to be the same flavour?
Not at all - you can choose any flavour for any tier. My most popular choices are Chocolate Fudge, Classic Vanilla, and Zesty Lemon, or a mix of all three. There's a much wider range on the flavour menu page too.
Do you offer consultations?
Yes, over video call or phone - whichever you prefer.
Can we taste samples?
Yes - a box of tasting samples can be posted straight to your home. Choose four or six flavours, and you can order your box here.
Can my cake be delivered?
Yes. I handle every delivery myself, personally, to make sure your cake arrives safely. My standard delivery area covers up to a 50-mile radius from Swanley, including Kent, Surrey, South Essex, Medway, and South London. Delivery fees are calculated individually based on mileage and travel time, and a surcharge applies for deliveries into or through Central London to cover tolls and city access costs. Send me your postcode and I'll give you a specific quote.
We want to dress our cake with real flowers, will you supply these?
I love the look of real flowers on a cake and use specialist, food-safe techniques to dress them securely. I'm happy to coordinate directly with your florist - some flowers are naturally toxic and shouldn't be used, and fresh flowers can carry dirt, pests, or chemical treatments, but there are plenty of safe options, and I can advise your florist on what works. There's no extra charge for me to style your flowers onto the cake at setup.
How long before our wedding is the cake prepared?
Fruitcakes are baked well in advance, as it improves the flavour, but all sponge cakes are baked the week of your wedding.
Can you make cakes without nuts or do you do gluten-free or vegan cakes?
My cakes don't contain nuts, but due to the risk of cross-contamination, I can't guarantee a nut-free or gluten-free cake - please let any nut-allergic guests know. I do offer vegan and egg-free cakes in vanilla and chocolate, and sometimes in other flavours too.
How do we secure you for our wedding date?
You can secure your date by placing a 50% deposit against your quote, with the remaining balance due two weeks before your wedding. If you'd rather lock in your date before a full consultation, a £150 deposit will hold it for up to three months. This is non-refundable but comes off your final total. You can pay your hold deposit directly using the link below.
